What is LIFI ?
LiFi or Light Fidelity is a high-speed optical wireless technology that uses visible light to transmit data(INTERNET). The company started by Professor Herald Haas in 2012 known as pureLifi. The term LiFi was coined in 2011 by Professor Harald Haas, a German scientist.
This bidirectional communication technology provides higher bandwidth, efficiency, and a more secure means of communication than radio technology such as Wi-Fi or cellular. LiFi is able to achieve a data transfer rate of up to 224 Gbps.
LiFi or light fidelity is almost similar to WiFi technology but it is one of the future wireless communication technologies. The main feature of this technology includes fully networked, bidirectional, and high-speed wireless transmission of data.
LiFi or Light Fidelity is best for providing internet connectivity in environments with a range of about 10 meters. This technology uses LED bulbs to transfer and share data. LED light bulbs emit light pulses that are undesirable to the human eye and are transmitted along with the data of those emitted pulses and from the receiver. These optical receivers collect information and interpret the transmitted data.

How LIFI works ?
LiFi or Light Fidelity is a visible light communications system and the speed of this system is very high. Li-Fi uses normal LED lights to allow the data to transfer up to the speed of 224 Gigabits/sec. The data transmission of this technology can be done through illumination. The essential devices of this system are the light-emitting diodes.

LiFi or Light Fidelity works on the principle of a visible light communications system that transmits wireless data (Internet) at very high speeds.
The technology creates an LED light bulb emitting pulses of light that are undesirable to the human eye and can travel to and from the data receiver, within those emitted pulses.
Then, the LiFi or Light Fidelity receivers collect information and interpret the transmitted data. This is ideologically similar to decoding Morse code, but at a much faster rate – millions of times in a second.
LiFi transmission speeds can exceed 100-300 Gbps, which is 14 times faster than WIFI, LIFI is also known as the world’s fastest wireless network system.
LiFi or Light Fidelity technology mainly consists of two parts such as transmitter and receiver.
The input signal on the transmitter section can be modified with a certain time period, then send data using LED bulbs in the form of 0 and 1. Here, the brightness of LED bulbs is indicated with 0 and 1. At the receiver end, a photodiode is used to receive the LED flash which strengthens the signal and gives the output.
The receiver section includes a LED-photodiode as well as an amplifier. Here, the LED-photodiode receives the brightness of the LED bulb, then converts the brightness into electrical signals. Finally, the amplifier receives the signal from the LED-photodiode and amplifies it to provide output.

So, which means that you no longer have to worry about snooping neighbors who try to break your internet connection without paying for it.
LiFi is more secure and provides additional privacy as compared to wifi because the light is blocked by walls and therefore provides more secure and fast data transfer because light cannot travel through walls and due to this hackers or intruders cannot access your internet.
In the case of Wi-Fi, the network is at risk of being hacked because it has a wide reach and radio frequency signals cannot be blocked by walls.
