Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 Pro
Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 Pro is Xiaomi’s latest premium flagship tablet, and under rs 38,999/- it’s a bang for the buck.
By removing that protective plastic we then have a cardboard box which contains a USB type c to headphone jack adapter alongside a quick start guide that’s pretty much it no USB cable in the box, no charger the charger is being packaged separately though.
so in china at least Xiaomi is including this 67w charger – the fact that they are packaging it separately means they might just sell it without the charger in some markets or maybe they are just getting us used to it as they did with the phones.
the Mi Pad 5 Pro u gotta love the build… it’s pretty much an apple iPad pro we’ve got a similar 11-inch display here similar pixel density – similar height, Width, marginally higher thickness, it’s also a little heavier since it’s got a higher capacity 8600mah battery.
but if you are someone who likes the iPad pro but wants an android variant – this one delivers The build quality seems very good we’ve got aluminum to the sides and back.
A beautiful beautiful high-resolution display upfront just like the iPad there’s optional stylus support, We have a proprietary connector to the left which lets you connect that optional keyboard next We have the volume keys, a couple of microphones, and the magnetic holder for the stylus add on to the right, the power key, another mic and a couple of speakers are present up top with Harmon Kardon branding.
there are 2 more speakers to the bottom along with the primary microphone and the USB type c port Now the first thing I tested out was if the speakers were a gimmick… cuz tablets usually end up being media consumption devices making the speakers all the more important than on say a smartphone.
And Xiaomi has delivered here, the sound output was rich and loud this is something Samsung does amazingly well on their tablets, glad to see Xiaomi not cut a corner here One area where Xiaomi doesn’t ape Samsung is with the display like the iPad pro s we have an LCD panel here.
Xiaomi Mi Pas 5 Pro to be one of the best non-amoled panels I’ve come across – excellent viewing angles, bright with support for hdr 10 and Dolby vision – its sharp given the 2.5k resolution meaning this one hits 275 pixels per inch – so the pixel density is marginally more than even on the iPad pro – similar to the iPad pro we get a 120 Hz refresh rate.
of course, gaming’s gonna be amazing here given we have a snapdragon 870 on the inside which is currently the highest spec you can find on a tablet. At least until the galaxy tab s8 series comes out… we get either 6 or 8 gigs of DDR 5 RAM to go along with 128 or 256 gigs of Ufs 3.1 storage which is all the more important due to the lack of memory expansion.
With the games I tried running, the performance felt smooth, and yes I do suck that much at Pubg – jokes apart… the mi pad 5 pro just felt like a hell of a performer.
we get game mode support as we’ve seen on Xiaomi phones… this is basically MiUi 12.5 built on top of android 11 – generally, the software has been the undoing of android tablets high-quality tablet apps are lacking and there’s not really much Xiaomi can do about that… but for what it’s worth – the performance.
the user experience felt really smooth and fluid is given the power underneath I am not happy with just android gaming, I really wanna try emulation on this GameCube, PlayStation 2 it should do well will have more to say in my full review.
Now returning back to that placement for a quick second… This power key has a fingerprint scanner built into it – seems pretty responsive… and the selfie camera also supports facial recognition, which as we’ve seen with other MIUI devices is rapid fast.
This here’s an 8mp selfie camera… and the performance seems satisfactory. I mean for a tablet. Your main uses here are gonna be the quick skype or zoom call and for that, this camera should do.
To the back, we have a dual-camera setup, a primary 13mp f2 along with a 5mp depth sensor making up the numbers the primary sensor seems to be decent.
Nothing too impressive, not that you’d expect a super impressive camera on a tablet but if you are enthusiastic about cameras on tablets Xiaomi does offer a 50mp shooter on the 5g variant that’s supposed to be a lot better.
The camera software is pretty much basic MiUi, nothing to write home about… so that’s the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 Pro. I’m gonna continue spending more time with it, and will have a lot more to say in my full review – in the meantime – do you have any questions for me? Anything in particular that you’d like for me to answer? Let me know in the comments below.

iPad 8th Gen (2020)
We do have the apple iPad 8th generation the regular iPad out of the entire iPad lineup and the regular iPad is usually a fun iPad to look at because of all that you’re getting built into this thing without it being too expensive.
so we’re going to keep that in mind today as we break down this iPad 8th generation give me some thoughts review this puppy all that good stuff starting things out with the iconic design of the Apple iPad 8th generation.
so in terms of the design of the iPad 8, we’ve got a lot of things that we’re pretty much used to by now we’ve got a 10.2-inch retina display your rather rare 3.5-millimeter audio jack your stereo speakers your lightning port on the bottom.
The device and last but not least that iconic touch id home button with your somewhat legacy design top and bottom bezels.
you’re also getting the iPad 8th generation available in three different finishes you have silver gold and space gray to choose from you still have that aluminum back with that shiny Apple logo the back of the iPad 8 being with those curved edges.
While the front of the display is flat and the thickness is one of the things that always blows my mind with these apple tablets here the iPad’s thickness of just 0.29 inches a thickness of just over a quarter-inch.
speaking of that iPad 8th generation display we’re going to have to talk a few minutes about the iPad 8 display just like the 7th generation you are getting on the 8th generation a 10.2 inch led backlit retina display coming in at 2160 pixels by 1620 pixels giving you a 264 PPI pixel density rating backed up with a maximum brightness of 500 nits.
Anytime a device has a display with 500 nits of brightness I’m generally happy that’s gonna be pretty sufficient for my needs both indoors and outdoors even in brightly lit situations one thing to keep in mind here is you are only getting a 60-hertz refresh rate in the iPad 8th generation display as opposed to the 120-hertz refresh rate you’re getting in the iPad Pro and you’re only getting a standard color range on the iPad 8th generation display as opposed to the wide color gamut you’re getting on the iPad air and the iPad Pro.
So for your basic display needs there’s not a whole lot here you could critique in the iPad 8th generation it’s got your basics and it’s retina so if you’re just a basic iPad user the retina quality is probably what you’re going to notice most but one thing we do have to touch on here because it’s part of the device is the cameras what are those cameras looking like on the iPad 8th Gen.
Well like we already mentioned you do have a front-facing selfie camera as well as a rear-facing wide camera the front-facing camera being an f 2.2/1.2 megapixel selfie camera capable of up to 720p HD video recording.
While the rear-facing camera is an f 2.4 8 megapixel wide-angle lens capable of up to 1080p 30 frames per second HD video footage.
So in case it’s not obvious you’re not going to be getting the iPad 8th generation ford’s cameras they’re there they’ll get the job done they’ll allow you to video conference or take a quick snapshot if you need that but just don’t plan on getting the regular iPad for its camera capabilities if you really want a really good camera in the iPad.
the actual device for one thing the biggest upgrade you’re getting is the a12 bionic chip built-in you’re also getting three gigs of ram built into the iPad what does that mean basically the iPad 8th generation is going to be the fastest basic iPad.
Yet you’re going to be able to notice iPad OS on the iPad 8th gen being snappy responsive smooth you’re going to love the multitasking options you have through iPad os and that powerful a12 bionic chip and with that having been said you’re basically going to cover all your usual day-to-day tasks on the iPad email web browsing video streaming maybe a little gaming all that it’s going to run smoothly.
No problem on the iPad 8th gen for more pro-level stuff you want to be able to get done on a tablet that’s where I would urge you to look again towards the iPad Air or the iPad Pro but again for all your basic needs in an apple tablet on the iPad.
